5,4,3,2,1 HAPPY WEDDING !!!! or is that new years? whelp today is wedding... how fun would it be to get married on one of the happiest days of the year? New Years Eve has always been one of my favorites ... it all about new beginnings, and starting the next chapter.. so isn't that what a wedding means ? Having a New Year Eve's wedding can be pulled off in a few special steps:
Step # 1 Choose your venue .... your venue sets the tone for any event .
Step # 2 Invite your guest .....I know that seems silly but it really is an important step.Especially since its a holiday!!!
Step # 3 Choose your décor ... décor for this wedding is what's going to take it over the top.... New Year's eve is a big day so your wedding has to also be big...here are a few suggestions
- Glitter .... put glitter on everything.. it really takes the décor to the next level.
- Noise Makers... what New Years Eve Party doesn't have noise makers (give them to your guest to cheer you on as you say I do and to cheer on the new year at midnight !
- Candles... Lots and Lots of Candles.. candles are my absolute fav when it comes to a night time wedding.
- Fireworks...at midnight as everyone cheers on the new year arrange for fireworks to go off over your venue.
Step # 4 Choose Your Attire ... having a wedding on one the of the biggest party night of the year requires your attire to be equally as big .... cocktail dresses, sparkling accessories and lots and lots of glitz and glam.
Step # 5 Choose a color scheme ... typically new years eve is all about gold and silvers... but as we know .. I love to think outside the box so I say instead of silver and gold...go with midnight blue.
Step # 6 Choose your food : cocktails and hor'dourves are key at these type of parties. I suggest bite sized food to encourage mingling you want it to feel like a party and not a formal wedding.
Happy Life , Happy Marriage , Happy New Year !!! #living2plan

First comes love then comes ....Will you marry me ? Four words that every girl wants to hear.. as little girls we imagine the day that the love of our life will ask us for our hand in marriage.... so why not make it memorable.. why not make it a production why not make it special? You may ask yourself how ...well I am glad that you asked....A lot of people think that wedding planners only specialize in wedding planning but truthfully a wedding planner not only plans weddings but we can plan all the events that lead up to wedding day including proposals. When I got engaged my honey took me to my favorite bakery and scheduled us a cake tasting.....I thought it was pretty odd considering that we weren't officially engaged but who turns down cake ? So I get there and we begin eating cake and then there was one little piece of cake off to the side and he says " babe these are amazing " this piece was the only piece that had a wrapper on it ...but still I didn't think anything of it... So as I took the wrapper off there it was my ring.... I instantly began to cry and when I looked at him there he was on one knee asking the four little words that I had been dying to hear..will you marry me? Even til this day it still brings tears to my eyes!!!!
Maybe you want to say it with lights ....
Or maybe you want to write her a love letter ...
Or maybe you want to say it with a cookie ...
Or maybe you want it written in sand ....
No matter how you say it just plan it out because this story will be a story that she tells for the rest of her life!!!!!

What a year....2013 has been a long but good year..I have grown a lot , learned a lot and most importantly gained a lot. I love what I do but sometimes it can be a bit changeling but I am so blessed that The Lord has blessed me with a team of people that no matter what they have my back....so here are a few of our favorite things....
Sometimes a party can be just two people....this event was done for a couple who wanted to celebrate valentines day at home.
30 never looked so good.... A birthday party for a very special diva...her only two request was cheetah and peach.... And we delivered!
Mrs.DIY herself... This bride and groom were so much fun.. They knew exactly what they wanted and knew exactly how to get it . Their wedding day was absolutely beautiful!
Nautical inspired table set up.... We love playing with patterns and design to build our portfolio. We can't think small ....we dream big!
How sweet it is to be 16.... This is a menu designed for "club 16" ..these signs were on the bar and it made the party really feel like a club.

Long gone are the days of your mother telling you to put on your Sundays best for church. Back then that meant a suit and a pair of dress shoes .. but the revolution has changed things its a new era like your baseball cap going with your sport jacket , button down shirt and a pair of jeans all pulled together with some fresh J's. The day's of complaint's are now replaced with joy because you got that fresh pair of kick's you been waiting to put on. Sneakers have created a brand new era of getting dressed. You will change your outfit at least four times before you walk out the door, just to ensure that no one can top your style. The church say's come as you are, and for ages the older crowd would frown upon the youth dress code. Gathering's and events where always casual or business casual, and there where no sneaker's allowed.....but with today's style everything is accepted. The right pair of shoes with your outfit can do so much for a person. It can increase your swag, it helps with your confidence, it could determine if you get that girl that you where looking at. It also allow for people to keep with tradition but be comfortable at the same damn time.
Chucks have become the number one pick and they are becoming the tradition ... The one thing that I love about chucks is that not only do you have the traditional black but they come in a range of colors that will go with any color scheme.
That groom got on running shoes ....some guys really like having fun and these lime green sneaks with lime green socks are definitely screaming FUN!!!!!
J's.... I think that every man needs a pair of J's and this totally works
for that groom that is going against tradition...and guys these can also be your gift to your groomsmen.
Here is another customizable favorite ... A lot of sneaker companies gives the option to customize your sneakers...here's a tip go online and play with colors and options...and make them your own ... what better way to " step Out " other than in your own style !

When I think of Christmas....a few things comes to mind... family, gifts and of course entertaining! Christmas is a time for good times with good company.....I have so many memories of when I was a child, my whole family would come over eat dinner , play games and just have plan fun! Well now that I am older I find my self doing the same things my mother did .....making menus and shopping list weeks before , making countless trips to the store and covering every room of my home with Christmas decor. This year I am trading in the big party for something more intimate. This year my husband and I are having a " Elegant Christmas" and here's how.....
Every table needs a centerpiece ... We'll in this case three! When creating a centerpiece I have two pieces of advice think about it and reuse items that you already have . My husband tells me that I buy so much stuff and only use it once..so for this piece I looked in my closet and pulled out these beauties!
I used trifle bowls to hold red and silver ornaments and at the center of it all a perfect silver and red tree!
Ice water .....I love using different shaped ice molds.....and as an added touch I added pomegranate seeds to the water before freezing!
Mmmmm.....martini ...for a festive holiday cocktail make Pomtinis!!!!!!
2 oz citrus vodka
1/2 ozfresh lemon juice
1/4 ozfresh pomegranate juice
1 oz simple syrup
Shake all ingredients well with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Add a dash of rose water if available. Garnish with flamed orange peel, and serve.
Mmmmm...Delish!!!!
Set your table.....normally for Christmas we do a big buffet ...but this year we decided to have an elegant sit down dinner. We used a silver charger, with a classic white plate ,red festive napkin and all dressed up with a silver coated snowflake.
No matter the plans whether they are big or small...we wish you a very Elegant Christmas!!!!

Oh orange and blue I do love you ......2014 is all about the trends and bold patterns and even bolder colors. This color combo is one of my favorites . You may ask yourself what makes a trend ... well I am glad that you asked . A Trend is based on the use of the items or colors.....when a lot couples use the same theme or color scheme it becomes a trend! here are a few suggestions for when choosing a color scheme for your wedding day :
Make it unique.....even though it is a trend make it your own ...incorporate fun pieces into your wedding .
Play on the colors... if choosing this trend .. try using other like colors, for example Gold will really make this combo POP!
Instead of using both colors equally use one as your base and the other as your ascent.
Customize!!!!! when it comes to having your day your way I suggest you do some research.... for example have custom luxury linens, or have custom invitations or my favorite is adding something "colorful" to your dress...whether it be a sash or a custom made train!!!

Bianka and I met ten years ago while attending High School.... Our paths crossed again early part last year . Bianka wasn't a "traditional " bride, Sometimes when you meet a couple they have no idea what they want or don't want but Bianka and Jason knew exactly what they wanted....and wasn't afraid to ask for it . Bianka was a very hands on bride .... after countless meetings and phone calls wedding day was finally here !!!!!
The Couple deiced to light a unity candle because family is very important to both of them so today not only do they unite their families unite as well.
" The path to true love is so narrow that two can not walk on it unless they become one "
Sometimes all you need is a little monogram on top of a perfect cake....
This picture is one of my favorites....sometimes personalities clash , but others are so unique that they form a bond that cant be broken.
Ladies and Gents ... introducing the "Wolf Pack"... during one of my consultations with Bianka she disclosed to me that the groom wanted to do something memorable with his entrance. So the Guys formed a "V " and walked into the ceremony ...it was so funny and so unique that the guest gave them a round of applause.
" since the day you came into my life you made me realize that we were born to fly...you showed me everyday new possibilities , you proved my fantasies of what love could really be " On this day Jason and Bianka went to a place only lovers go ...and they floated away on love !!!!
Congratulations To Mr & Mrs Davis!!!

Don't Call it a come back blue has been here for years!!!! Our August bride Sereta was all about hues of blue ! Blue is and always will be a favorite amongst brides. Sereta loved blue ...it took a little bit to narrow down the blue that she would use but once she saw it ...she knew ......
The story behind the dress.... Sereta made an appointment to try on wedding gowns but the night before she sat at her computer and her husband to be says "that dress is amazing"...she shooed him away but the next day she tried on his gown and fell in love...
"WHAT GOD HAS PUT TOGETHER LET NO MAN BRING ASUNDER "
The couple decided to do a sand ceremony .. The purpose of sand instead of a candle is that a candle can be blown out but when sand is poured it mixes and once mixed it is impossible to separate .
Family is evereverything to the couple ....
You found a place in their hearts now
find your seat!!!
All things love and all things blue!!!! Every detail of this wedding had blue all over it!
Mr. & Mrs. Davenport...we wish more than a couple of forevers . We wish you a lifetime of HAPPINESS !!!

A Love as fine as fine wine .... many people know that wine gets better with aged and so does a marriage. This theme is so many things its classy but rustic , its vintage but trendy... to bring this theme to life you must do a few things.
Step # 1 : Find a local winery or a barn.. the venue is most important it really sets the tone for your event. Not to mention a beautiful background for you photos.
Step # 2 : Choose your colors ...some people go with the traditional wine color... but I think that you should go against the grain and choose a mustard yellow or a green.
Step # 3: Choose upscale desserts... so many people are going with candy buffets or a sweet table but why not go with themed desserts such as wine poached pears , wine panna cotta or maybe during dessert have a mini wine tasting at your reception. This will really wow your guest!
Step # 4 Choose your décor.... with the venue already being so beautiful you really don't need to go all out for décor... trust me once you find the perfect venue the venue will be enough!!!
Enjoy Wine , Enjoy Life , Enjoy Love !!!! # living2plan
