So you are going to an event and you have no idea what to wear & you don't want to be over dressed or under dressed ... you want to be PERFECT ! I have been to many events and I have seen plenty of fashion No No's ! So here are Errika's Fashion Tips :
- Accessories : you should use jewelry and handbags to make your outfit pop ! like the picture below the dress was plain but the accessories were popping !
- Under Garments: When wearing light or white colored clothing do not wear colored under garments because it will show right through ! To Be safe you should always wear a color close to your skin tone ( nude /beige /tan ) .
Sometime neutrals are too neutral! Be sure what ever outfit you pick it goes well with your skin tone ! sometimes certain color tones can make you look washed out.
When choosing your outfit remember this rule .. dressy ,dressy plain or plain , plain ,dressy ! this is simple if your dress is plain your accessories can be dressy but if your dress is dressy then your accessories should be plain .
Just because it comes in your size DOES NOT mean you should wear it ! I am not throwing shade .. I am just being honest !
Be Comfortable !!! When choosing an outfit keep in mind the type of event this is , how long is the event and where the event is located ! You may want to rethink those pumps if its a three hour party in a park .

Vintage Ice Cream Parlor :
The Menu:
This party is different from the previous one ... Before, the menu required that you just provide Ice Cream and the fixins .. But this theme steps it up a notch . The menu requires you to have ice cream , milk shake options and the all American favorite a banana boat station!
The Décor :
With a steped up menu comes steped up decor. This theme is not only about a delish dessert this theme is about ... Transforming your event space to look like and to feel like a Ice Cream Parlor. So I suggest :
- Candy striper aprons and hats
- Vintage Menu Signs
- Vintage tables and chairs
- Metal Bowls and Cups
- Black and white pictures of people have fun.
- And a Jute Box ... Nothing says Vintage like Juke Box !
The Ice Cream Truck:
Do you remember being a kid and playing with your friends and out of no where here comes the ice cream man ? Well with this theme creates that feeling of happiness and here's how:
The Menu:
The ice cream man always had multiple popsicles , a variety of Ice Cream sandwiches and cones ...and so should you ! Gather big boxes of your favorite frozen treat and serve them up to your guest
The Decor :
- Metal Buckets filled with ice ( do not serve the ice cream selections out of the box!)
- Customized Menu Board
- Ice Cream Truck cut out ( if you have a crafty friend make a fun shaped prop ) like the side of the ice cream truck.
- Music ... Play some ice cream truck music ... People ways hear the music before they see the truck!!!

During the summer my husband and I do our best to find affordable fun activities for our family to do. So this year my husband wanted to take the kids to an amusement park . So we looked up our local amusement park and instantly changed our minds ! The prices are OUTRAGEOUS !!!! My children and Five and Four and I am not spending 50-60 dollars on admission to an over crowded amusement /water park ! So what else would I do other than create my own water park !!!!
So this summer is going to HOT .. So here are my favorite ideas to create your own backyard water park :
Water Ballons :
Have a water balloon fight ... Fill up a bunch of latex balloons and just have some fun ! And for an extra cool relief fill the balloons and put them in the refrigerator !
Slip and Slide :
This is so cool and so much fun... Grab some heavy duty tarp from your local hardware store and grab the hose and the rest is easy... Make sure you get it really wet before letting the kiddies play.
Water Limbo:
Do the limbo limbo limbo!!!! When I was a kid limbo was so much fun... But this new twist is sure to keep the family cool!!!
Water Ballon Piñata :
Who doesn't love taking a good wack at Piñata? This water activity is so much fun and it's another way to insure everyone cools down!
Inflatible Water Attraction:
This looks so fun .. And so cooling ! All kids love bouncy houses but when you add water ... You won't be able to get the m out of it .
